Romantic Luxe Styled Shoot
Moody, Romantic, and Lavish… The 3 simple words that drove this styled shoot into becoming what it is. It was the perfect juxtaposition of modern and old world. There was no picture that we saw nor theme that we wanted to replicate. Our ultimate inspiration was simply to create something unique and different for not only brides, but vendors, designers, and everybody in between to become enthralled with what has been created. Our incredible team of vendors brainstormed together, each throwing in different elements they thought would be a good fit, and it came together seamlessly. The shoot took place at the Alexandria Ballroom in Downtown Los Angeles, which was once a running luxury hotel in the beginning of the 20th Century. Being the historic building that it is, we thought it was the perfect backdrop for the shoot to bring in the old world element. We utilized the existing fireplace and mantel for our Ceremony space, where Shawna Yamamoto Event Design created the most beautiful setting. Framed and sitting on the mantel was a oversized living artwork… Made completely of real floral! A look we carried throughout the shoot was overgrown greenery and floral. We wanted a very natural feel, as if the greenery was growing out of the wall. Lining our aisle was hundreds of candles as well as furs and hides courtesy of Found Vintage Rentals. For our Table Top we maintained the overgrown look, while tying in more colors and textures with the florals. Shawna and her team made a custom mirrored tabletop with a gold and silver rubbed edge that was placed on top of acrylic stands, which made the illusion of a floating table. For this setting we focused on lush florals, delicate details, and modern features such as acrylic, mirrored elements, and pops of gold. Rachel with Rachel Jane Couture provided the custom menu cards which where etched mirrored plexi and looked incredible with our napkin treatment. Our bride and groom were stunning and fit right into our glamorous setting. The bride wore Katie May's Verona gown complete with hand-placed chantilly lace throughout the back, bodice, and sleeves. The low back and beautiful train added to the drama and romance of the shoot. Thank you to all who turned this blank slate into a beautiful masterpiece for inspiration and swooning!
