The Resort at Pelican Hill Wedding | Susanna & Hayes
Susanna and Hayes are two incredibly warmhearted, truly beautiful souls that I had the pleasure of working with. The couple chose the ever so beautiful Pelican Hill Resort for their big day, with the iconic rotunda being one of the most popular, and romantic, places to tie the knot. What I loved about their vision was that they decided to forgo flowers at their ceremony in place of candles. It was the perfect decision as their evening ceremony was illuminated by hundreds of candles placed inside glass vases of various sizes. With guests sitting on ghost chairs and the dark evening sky, I felt like all the attention was really on Susanna and Hayes and celebrating their love. I would love to see more couples take this route for their ceremony because it honestly created such an intimate, picture perfect moment. Afterwards, the party moved indoors to the banquet hall, where we incorporated burgundy and white florals throughout the space to create an elegant, moody atmosphere. Guests were seated at custom faux suede tables where black napkins, glowing candles, and smoky charger plates with gold accents added to the moody decor. It’s all in the details! There’s just something so edgy and beautiful when it comes to color palettes with darker hues. While I can never get sick of light and bright decor, I also love when couples want to add deep, rich colors into their wedding too! It was touching to hear speeches that gushed over how perfect Susanna and Hayes are together, and literally anyone can see how in love they are. To see the happy couple enjoy their cake and dance the night away with their friends and family really warmed my heart. I hope these two continue to be an example of true love and commitment to all of us. Congratulations!
