Porch Party for 15th Birthday | Private Home

At the height of Covid 19 during May 2020, birthday celebrations were cancelling left and right and a new trend emerged.  Drive by parties and porch displays.  For this 15thyear old quarantine birthday, Shawna Yamamoto decorated the porch with all sherbet tones, pastel rainbow and sparkling iridescence. The vibe for this teenager was “California Dreamin” so hand painted palms in pink, lavender and aqua peeked through the vibrant balloons.  Throughout summer balloon installations we on trend but I think its because they represent happiness and celebration. Balloons symbolize birthdays whether your turning 5 or 50!  Iridescent colored metallic streamers were super clever, as you can’t get that pop with just pastels. For children of all ages, parties are not without favors and to go treats. Shawna created a 3 dimensional display, shelving party favor boxes.  Friends drove by with the option to get out of the car to pick up their favor box or have it delivered to them curbside.   Boxes were filled with California shaped and palm tree sugar cookies from TishDelish. The girls were able to identify their box with custom initial keychain rings and a hand painted acrylic palm tree with their name laser etched from Luxe Marie Stationery. Teenagers dream in color so we filled the boxes with bright sticker clings, hair scrunchies, pens, notecards and iridescence makeup pouch.  Who knew hair scrunchies from the 80s would come back strong.
