Island Hotel and The Resort at Pelican Hill Wedding Weekend | Jaclyn & Michael
Words can’t describe how much I adore Jaclyn, Michael and their families and it was such an honor – and SO much fun! - to plan the wedding weekend for these two love birds. This was the ultimate destination wedding weekend with events taking place at some of the best spots Orange County has to offer!Welcome Reception at The Island Hotel: The best way to kick off a destination wedding weekend is with a white party themed Welcome Reception full of palm fronds, pineapples, great food and live music of course! Jaclyn’s amazing mom Beth has a slight – okay MAJOR – obsession with pineapples and we love her for it! Even the cocktail napkins had gold embossed pineapples on them! They were the perfect addition to enhance the already existing Orange County beachy resort vibes at The Island Hotel. Fayaz of Bloom Box Designs did an incredible job with the design. From the white lanterns that hung outside to the plush white day beds to the custom palm leaf print pillows, not a single detail was missed! Guests enjoyed delicious food, yummy cocktails, and enjoyed the wonderful live music from singer and guitarist, David Aldo. It was the perfect way to start the wedding weekend!Wedding Ceremony & Reception at The Resort at Pelican Hill: Not only are Jaclyn and Michael a beautiful couple on the outside, but even more beautiful on the inside. Their love for each is so evident to everyone they come across and their wedding day was bursting at the seams with that love. They are each other’s first loves – hence the perfectly fitting #Fershtloves hashtag– and it was such an honor to see their amazing love story come full circle on their wedding day. Jaclyn was a vision of perfection on her wedding day and the look on Michael’s face at their first look says it all – so sweet! Their smiles were contagious all day long. Jaclyn’s lovely bridesmaids each wore a different style gown in similar blush hues that were completed with a different floral bouquet for each of the ladies. The ceremony was one after my own heart with lush greenery and white blooms cascading from the chuppah that sat atop a custom wood platform expertly designed by Fayaz and his team at Bloom Box Designs. The aisles were flanked with welcome tables adorned with lush potted arrangements, custom handkerchiefs for “Tears of Joy,” pashminas for guests to take if they got cold and one-of-a-kind programs by Wiley Valentine. The traditional ceremony was so touching and Jaclyn and Michael’s vows to each other definitely had everyone crying those tears of joy! Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and delectable hors d’oeuvres on the terrace while enjoying the one of a kind sound of James Thompson on the electric violin – such a fun and unique twist on traditional strings and the guests really enjoyed it! The ballroom was pure romance with lush greenery and the soft glow from the abundant candles, hanging lanterns and roaring fireplace. One of the main focal points of the reception – besides our adorable newlyweds! – was the sweetheart table with abundant greenery lining its base with the hanging cake (that was almost too pretty to eat!) suspended from the ceiling right behind it. It was a night full of love, laughter, and fun as guests danced all night until the early morning hours. To say that I adore this couple and their families is a complete understatement. I miss our daily talks, but am so grateful for our wonderful time spent planning this momentous occasion together! Luckily we have these amazing photos from Braedon Flynn and wedding film from Elysium Productions to relive this incredible weekend! Congratulations, again, to Jaclyn & Michael!
