waldorf astoria Monarch Beach Resort & club, Hyatt Huntington Beach and Montage Laguna Beach Wedding Weekend | Sunitha & Sridhar
As many of you know, Indian weddings are not just a one day affair. We had the privilege of working with Sunitha, Sridhar, and their families to create multiple days of celebrations.Day 1 Sangeet/Mehndi at Monarch Beach Resort - For the first day of celebrations for the Reddy families and all of their guests, which included people who traveled from all over the world to be there, they started the weekend off with a bang! Suni and Sri decided to combine their Sangeet and Mehndi parties into one day, which made for such a fun and colorful celebration. Design elements consisted of a floral wall at the entrance of the party that was the perfect photo-op, 11 Moroccan style tents beautifully constructed by Raj Tents that acted as mehndi stations and lounging areas, a large custom wood dance floor where AATMA Dance Group performed along with friends and family members, and bright florals in colors of coral, peach, pink and fuchsia that vibrantly popped against the coastal skyline. The night was filled with laughter, toasts, and lots of love for the soon to be husband and wife. Before guests headed over to the After Party at Club 19, we had a surprise in store for them unlike any other! A 10 minute firework show was arranged that shot off over the golf course with the stunning Pacific Ocean in the background. Like I said, they truly started the weekend off with a BANG!Day 2 Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Hyatt Huntington Beach- Although the party on Day 1 was hardly ending at 1AM, Sunitha and Sridhar were up bright and early happier than ever that they finally were going to become one as husband and wife. Sunitha, as always, was a vision in her custom made Sari from India that she wore perfectly with jewelry that adorned her from head to toe. And how stunning are all 14 of her bridesmaids in their coral Sari's? Sunitha's bridal bouquet was made up of all blush peonies, her very favorite flower that you will also see throughout the table centerpieces at the reception. After the Baraat, where Sridhar was led in by a horse dressed to the nines in rich gold and reds, we began the processional into the tented ceremony that took place on the Lighthouse Courtyard. The ceremony was dreamy and filled with luxe chiffon draping from the roof to the floor, beautiful white carpet, and floral halos down the entire center of the tent in coordinating tones of blush, cream, and champagne. The backdrop behind Suni & Sri at the Mandap was dripping with roses and blooms. Suni was carried to the love of her life on a beautiful floral doli that was held by Sridhar's closest friends. I love the symbolism of important people in both of their lives carrying her to her future. The ceremony was full of traditions, music, and symbolistic rituals that bonded Suni and Sri together for eternity. After the conclusion of the ceremony and lunch, guests had a break to freshen up and get prepared for a night full of fun and celebration. When the clock struck 6 o clock, champagne and delectable bites were awaiting the 1,100 guests for Cocktail Hour before they danced the night away. We are so glad Sunitha and Sridhar were able to come into the ballroom for a sneak peak before all thousand guests rushed in to see the beauty. The shots of the couple on the dance floor from Lin & Jirsa with their dream wedding behind them are so magnificent! We had two "floral walls", one being completely made of blush, lavender, and white wisteria, and the other being completely made of natural greens. The couple and their parents sat on the white carpeted stage on beautiful couches surrounded by floating candles, they truly had the best seats in the house to see all 1,100 of their guests! On all 119 tables were low and lush centerpieces consisting of dahlias, garden roses, and peonies peonies peonies! At each guests place setting was a hand calligraphy thank you note, as well as a darling "Love" acrylic stir stick from Rachel Jane Couture. It's the little details that make a big impact... of course along with the entire middle section of the ceiling covered in wisteria and greens as well. The table linens were white sequin, to sparkle in the candlelight and not clash with the white carpet, and the chairs were clear acrylic, because 1,100 chairs in a solid color would have been too overwhelming. The walls were draped in the same luxurious chiffon as the ceremony tent, and the ceilings were illuminated by massive chandeliers that glimmered. Guests entered the ballroom, and shortly after the couple got onto the dance floor for their first dance that was performed by the one and only John Legend. The confetti canons were triggered as Suni and Sri swayed to "All of Me" in a sprinkling of white snow-like confetti. It truly was a magical evening that we were so honored to have been a part of, and will remember forever!Day 3 After Party at Montage Laguna Beach - Just because the couple is already married, doesn't mean the celebrating needs to end! With a weekend full of Indian events, Suni rocked many different Sari's throughout. For her After Party Brunch, she wanted to wear white, something more Traditional American bridal. Her ornate Reem Acra gown was SO beyond beautiful and absolutely perfect for this event. The photos by Jana Williams are beyond stunning! Suni & Sri look so editorial and classy. When it came to design, Shawna Yamamoto Event Design created an atmosphere for guests to mingle and lounge while sipping on yummy cocktails and soaking up the California sun. Montage created decadent snacks that were tray passed along with refreshing cocktails such as Watermelon Margaritas and Berry Sangria. As the event came to a close, Suni and Sri snuck off to take photos in the water, which turned out so dreamy and was the perfect relaxing close to an eventful weekend!
