No more Harry and Davids, just buy me Macarons

I am in love, again…other than cupcakes, I can’t get enough of macarons, especially these from Paulette’s in Beverly Hills. My favorite is pistachio and grapefruit and of course sweet wedding almond.

Paulette’s unique macarons are hand-made daily in her everly Hills bakery. Working with master pastry chef Christophe Michalak, they’ve dedicated themselves to creating a new and original take on this Parisian specialty. The store is delightful; a luminous contemporary atmosphere that features a kaleidoscope of vivid colors and delectable tastes. (Ok, didn’t really write that but took it off their site) Visit this modern day sweets shop. Can’t make it to LA, order online.

Some of you may remember the sneak peaks of Lindsey and Chris’s amazing 3 day destination wedding extravaganza last July in Laguna Beach.  The last day was the actual wedding day, held at a private estate and then dinner at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel.  There were ballerinas, synchronized swimmers, DJ AM, Mad Hatter, Save the Date book made into a wedding cake, just to name a few details.  To see more, you have to pick up the new OC Weddings Magazine!

Doesn’t it look like me?

The talented Holly Hatam of Tear Drop weddings is at it again. This time, she did a drawing of me, but I think the drawing is much cuter!  Thanks Holly!

I am in love with cupcakes, THESE cupcakes

For those that know me, I love red velvet Sprinkles, well Brooke and Michelle do too. We do try to limit consumption due to sugar content. But more than just the love of the taste of cupcakes as it’s just the perfect amount of cake and icing, I go crazy over cute cupcakes… and I have found someone so talented that I have to share her info.  She is based in Mission Viejo, Kelly of Once Upon a Cupcake.  She can do any holiday, any theme, any special occasion, you name it….she can do it. Now what holiday is coming up so I can make an excuse to order them?  She does mention in her blog that Back to school is first week of September…hmm, not going to work as Maddie is not in school yet.  Maybe Happy Friday, will that count, any excuse right to have one of her cupcakes?

Next Day Edit of Jessica and Jesse’s wedding

Some of you may have heard of this…Next Day Edit, this is when you can’t wait 4-6 months for your wedding video OR your needs change and you would like to show family and friends who were unable to make it to the wedding a quick glimpse of the day. Here is a wedding a couple weeks ago…photos coming soon. Thanks Elysium Productions for working on this so quickly.

Surprise! Hennessey’s Tavern becomes Redmond’s Bar

I planned thier wedding several summers ago and had the honor of planning a surprise 50th birthday party for John. Carla and I had so much fun and it was tough planning as John could not know why I was calling. But Carla came up with the idea of turning a local bar into a bar that John would love, it had to be an Irish Pub…She had coasters made as Save the Date cards and then a bottle of beer arrived in it’s own wood carrying case as the formal invite. How awesome is that! We changed the signs inside and outside on Patio and added decals to windows, had paper cocktail napkins with the logo, and even changed out the floor mat. (Great keepsake)  Service staff all had Redmond’s bar tanks and tees on! And to top it all off, the birthday cake was a mini version of Redmond’s Bar! The food was also amazing, not your typical fish and chips and greasy finger foods, but Hennessey’s Tavern created a custom menu of grilled filet mignon and fresh fish, rolled sushi, fresh tossed salads, mashed potato bar and the best part I think, the funnel cake station. Had to have one greasy item, right.  Happy Birthday John!  And thanks Lauren Hillary Photography for documenting his surprise and expressions!
