Jeannie Le’s Bridal Shower

Many of you know, one of the Senior Assistants for Details Details is getting married, the other Jeannie, aka JLe on wedding day timelines!  Well, I was invited to her shower and was blown away at the beauty of the handmade paper invite, thaaaaat must of taken a long time to make, oh Nite!! (Maid of Honor and another senior DD gal) Guests dressed in black and white only, entered the perfectly decorated room: light pink matte satin linens, white flowers in wrapped glass containers, damask patterned paper menu and place cards in black and white, pink martinis and candy station party favors, well done ladies!  It’s been awhile since I have been to one of these, baby showers marathon for me these days. SO I expected the “make a wedding dress out of toilet paper game”, nope!  The newest modern version is decorate a 3 tier cake with frosting and ribbon and flowers and anything else you can find! OK, I was ready….our team had sample sketches planned out before we went into action..ok, we had a little advantage, Christine another DD assistant and I were on the same team so we have seen our fair share of cakes…and so yes, we won the competition!  Got cute boxes with nail polish in them!  We left full with food, candy, treats (raspberry tea cookies for me) and jeweled flip flops in personalized bags. Thanks SO Much to Stefanie from Eckman Maus Photography- Studio EMP for capturing all the details!  I had so much fun, even though I was oldest gal there other than the moms and aunts, but I loved it, and love Jeannie. May your wedding be just as beautiful as you are!

Evan Cate will be here soon

One of my best friends Judy celebrated her pregnancy this past weekend as her mother (in Korea), another girlfriend and I hosted a intimate baby shower for her. Judy is having a girl, yeeeaaah…someone for my Maddie to play with. Evan Cate will be her name.   As I got older, I realized that I steered clear of shower games since I had my fair share and just honed in on good food. We reserved a portion of the patio at Jin Patisserie in Venice. Quaint pastry tea house…always packed with locals.  Owner Kristy makes the most beautiful food. It’s so pretty, that you don’t want to eat it. My favorites that day were: the egg salad sandwich, buttery scones, lavender chocolate cake and the endless cups of green tea.  Hand calligraphy place cards (Lettering by Leslie) reserved seats for each guest.  I am a believer of place cards when it comes to who sits where at one long table, and not necessary for groups of 100+ at multiple tables. Thanks to White Lilac who created the floral party favors and delivered them to LA for me, phew!  Everyone loves to take flowers home!

Surprise and Wrinkle Cream

Ok, it was my birthday recently… I have been 30 already once before so I am not disclosing my age on this blog.  I decided this year to invest in great facial cream and eye cream. I’ll let you know what I get!. Well, sneaky Brooke and Michelle plotted and planned my birthday dinner as I was thinking it was going to be an intimate group of 3 or 4….little did I know my husband knew about it too, along with many others!  My heart stopped, and skipped a beat, because I was in shock….not good for a control freak like me.  I was absolutely delighted to see everyone and even my little Maddie showed up too with dad.  They are so close…I am so lucky to have him as a husband, who is an amazing father and so supportive of my weekend job and weekday job!  Sweet Jasmine Star and JD were there to document my speechless but happy expressions and Grace, created a mini me cake topper Hawaiian party style (topper has better body of course)!  What a night, great memories and the perfect meal, Saba Steak Salad from Tommy Bahamas.    And of course, red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.  SLIDESHOW by Jasmine
I realized I forgot to make a toast, usually my hubbie does those. But BIG Thanks to all those that made it and to those that couldn’t, I love you all! Cheers!

Brides Southern California

We were approached last month to assist in planning Brides.com’s annual networking event on April 16 at Molaa in Long Beach. Brides.com is part of Brides Southern California, Brides Magazine, Elegant Bride and a Conde Nast Publication. The location was so unique as we had the event outdoors in the sculpture garden at Molaa and the food was amazing as they exclusive partners with TGIS, Thank Goodness It’s Sophia Catering. And of course, the talented Christopher Aldama of Fiori Fresco was on board for design and producing spectacular lighting. Other buddies that came to sponsor are Classic Party Rentals, Wildflower Linens, Lounge Appeal, Chameleon Chairs, Pacific Coast Bar, Diana Phillips Artisan Chocolatier. The rest you are going have to buy the magazine.  Here are just a few candid shots of the event from Samuel Lippke’s camera and us (the other Jeannie, Michelle and Christine) with Samuel. This event will be featured in the Fall Winter Issue 08 of Brides Southern California Magazine.
