Celebrate the Sea and the Sand

Town & Country Weddings magazine included a couple fun details from Melissa & Matt’s wedding in their “Celebrate the Sea and the Sand” page. Their wedding ceremony took place on the sand in front of a private estate in Malibu. Featured is an image of the chuppah made from branches, produced by Fiori Fresco Special Events, and a classic invitation by Nichelle, Details a la Carte. John Hong with John and Joseph Photography captured all the details and lifetime memories. I loved all the details that went into this wedding and we are honored to see it featured in the Fall/Winter 2010 issue of Town & Country Weddings.

Here’s a peak into the Town & Country Fall/Winter 2010 issue:

Inside Weddings Feature

Amy & Nicholas’s wedding is going to be featured in the Fall issue of Inside Weddings! You may recall this wedding from our blog, but I wanted to share this fabulous spread from Inside Weddings.

The wedding took place at Ponte Winery in Temecula, which was the setting that captured everything that Amy & Nicholas dreamed of. Their wedding was unique and outdoorsy, yet very romantic. One unique aspect of their wedding was that everything from the wedding invitations to the floral arrangements were organic and eco friendly to the environment. This wedding truly refelcted the couples lifestyle and the day couldn’t have been more special.

A special thanks to Hoffmann Photographer for all the wonderful details that you captured.

Here is a look into the upcoming Fall issue of Inside Weddings magazine:

Simply Beautiful Affair

It was a pleasure to work with Drew & Kathy on their wedding at the St. Regis Monarch Beach. Drew & Kathy are very calm and relaxed people, and they bring a peaceful vibe to any setting. I love how they met through an industry party…they make quite the pair!

It was important for Kathy & Drew to have an intimate wedding with their family and close friends. They fell in love with the Botanical Garden at the St. Regis…the PERFECT location for this affair. The Botanical Garden is a very serene and quaint setting, which was exactly what they were looking for. A dinner reception followed at Motif’s private dining room where guests enjoyed 3 vegan courses and a vegan wedding cake. This couple has tasted a lot of different vegan food, but they said that the St. Regis did a fabulous job and it was probablly the best vegan food that they have ever tasted! Thank you Sussanna, French Buckets for the decor and Jan Garcia & Tey for capturing all the beautiful photos!

Baby Shower by Details Details Assistant

You think the DD girls are good, our Assistants are amazing! I hate calling them assistants, they are super talented crafty women and we are blessed to have them part of the team on the weekends. Look at this AMAZING baby shower! I love the colors and how everything coordinates so well together. Jeannie, one of our senior assistants, is having a baby boy and we couldn’t be more excited for her!

Nite (another DD senior assistant :) ) along with a few other friends of J Le hosted the shower. Anyone who knows Nite knows how talented and creative she is. The shower theme was inspired by the invitation J Le picked off of Minted.com. Grace over at Sweet Gems created the adorable cake (I heard it was even 50 times more impressive in person)! The cookie favors were custom made by Karen from Sugar and Flour on Etsy. Nite & the other hostesses created all the centerpieces…they put a lot of love in hand making all the decor and games! Guests had fun participating in the onsie decorating game and the outdoor golf games. All the fun memories were captured by Sebastian Ho Photography.

Summer Love at the Ritz Laguna Niguel

For all those girly girls out there, Cathy & Mark’s wedding was simply romantic. As clean and chic as it was, the colors of white, blush, and pink just make this wedding feel soft and romantic. Cathy is a super stylish lady with great taste and she knew that White Lilac would create a wedding better than she could imagine. They decided to have a daytime ceremony and an afternoon reception at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel. I love the intimacy of the Plaza Ballroom and the chandeliers complemented their decor nicely. I am a fan of the bridesmaid’s dresses and both of Cathy’s wedding dresses (the short wedding dress was great for dancing…plus you got to show off those shoes!). Cathy & Mark wanted to incorporate their Yorkie & Maltese in their wedding so Gohan & Bella became the ring bearer & flower girl. Both Cathy & Mark looked amazing, but it was their happiness of being married that truly shined. Thanks Ja for capturing the photos!

Aubrey + Jordan’s Wedding Video

Aubrey & Jordan got married at the Montage in Laguna Beach this past summer. Aubrey & Jordan both have fun spirits, which were captured so well through their wedding video by FortyOneTwenty! This couple LOVES music, and it was fun incorporating their love for music along with their love for the beach throughout their big day. I am looking forward to posting the photos…it was truly a California chic wedding. Thank you Matt from FortyOneTwenty for sharing this video with us!

Carol & Gene’s Wedding Video

Carol & Gene wed at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort. Their wedding took place overlooking the Resort’s 18th green, which made a fun intro for their wedding video produced by the talented FortyOneTwenty. Thanks Matt, FortyOneTwenty, for sharing their wedding video with us! It was a great day and Carol & Gene were very sweet to work with.

Anuja & Arif’s Wedding at Pelican Resort

This is VERY rare. An Indian wedding with soft colors…usually wedding colors are bright and bold but Anuja’s, a girly girl, with soft apricot, blushy pink, and some vivid splashs of coral and soft green. The Mandap was modern yet, graceful. It was the stage for an Ismaili and Hindu ceremony. This was my first Ismaili ceremony. Adored the chandeliers going down the aisle, with the crystals at the end under the mandap. It got breezy during set up and team White Lilac were untangling crystals for some time!

It was a long day for Anuja, as she started off the morning with the Piti ceremony, for women only. Then an additional 2 ceremonies, 2 hours in length. After the Hindu ceremony, guests headed to cocktails while the bride and groom changed into evening outfits. Guests entered the dinner reception with oohs and ahhs, as again it was not a traditional decor, with an ethereal vibe of greenery and soft warm tones. Nichelle, Details a la Carte, created beautiful papergoods, with a Indian flair, the designs were perfectly suited for the decor! You can see it prominently on the dance floor gobo. Thanks Mike from Shine for putting up with me for days, and freezing the night before. DJ Parag with Special Occassions LA was perfect for the group, played just enough Indian music for the parents and mixed it up with hip hop pop as the night went on. Anuja and Arif ended their 4 day event with brunch at Andrea’s inside Pelican Resort. It was definitely a destination wedding for the couple and the guests as they returned to many different states and countries, even South Africa (long flight!!!)

LA Engagement Shoot

When Rosy & Paul met through mutual friends at a Christmas party, they knew from the start that they were going to be inseparable. Danny Lee Photography captured their engagement photos around the heart of LA, Bunker Hill & LACMA. Thank you to Carol and Danny for sharing these engagement photos with us. These moments truly reflect how fun-loving this couple really is. I am looking forward to their upcoming wedding at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Anuja & Arif’s Garba, night before the big day

I love love outdoor receptions, rare to find in OC. Anuja and Arif invited all their guests (most from out of state) to their Garba at the Bamboo courtyard of Fairmont Newport Beach. Sunny and her team at White Lilac created an amazing dance floor treatment that was so beautiful during daylight and it just got better and better as the night went on. It created such a festive atmosphere for Dandiya stick dancing and traditional bhangra drumming. The dance floor was always packed, except for when guests feasted on a gorgeous meal created by Praveen from Clay Oven. Praveen told me that the creme brule he makes is the best I will ever eat in my life. And you know what, I think he is right, it was fresh mango diced up ontop of creme brule that was perfectly smooth. They also offered mehendi to all the women present. When women got together for group shots, I just think it’s so beautiful when they stand side by side in their colorful saris. I am dying to wear a sari!
