Megan and David, Same Day Edit

Julie from Elysium writes: Check out Megan & David’s Same Day Edit! This couple was LOADS of fun and this video really shows it – you have to watch until the end to see their crazy cool first dance (I will be posting the entire dance in full next week. Yes – it was THAT GOOD!). The wedding took place on the Grand Lawn of the lovely St. Regis. The florals were also gorgeous. Enchanted Florist always does an outstanding job. It was also super fun working with our good friend Joel from Eckman Maus Photo Congrats Megan & David!

Fight On and Jersey Boys Surprise

Match.com……so those singles ladies out there who don’t believe in online dating, here is proof! Megan and David met on match.com, both USC graduates, different years. But had much in common and of course in love. Megan surprised him with the USC band and David surprised her with a Jersey Boys rendition.

This was a fun couple and fun party! Drinks from the moment guests stepped foot on the Grand Lawn at St.Regis Monarch Beach to pizzas at midnight with the DJ Soltani performing. USC elements throughout- Tommy Trojan was there to represent in the form of an ice luge along with a USC football that was thrown with the garter.  Megan had some traditional colors in mind but completely not 80′s, so we spiced it up with white ottoman linens for texture, white chivari chairs to make the tables pop…and eggplant runners and chair cushions for saturation of color away from just the centerpieces. The flowers were not tight or compact, loose and air, whimisical and fun…..Amazing LED lighting…cool purple and blue tones all night.

The crazy earthquake about to fall over cake was Megan’s idea, it was an intense cake!  Photobooth scrapbook was very popular, you should see some of the pages that were made, serious artists in that room.

And signature Details Details Petite Sweets Table, which tends to be a big hit with the boys.  Lastly a custom gobo to wish guests good night.

Erin and TJ Part II

Ok, no decor, just other details.  I am not sure where to start….the pictures speak for themselves. LOVE LOVE the shoes! Love the hair birdcage, only Erin could have pulled this off!  And love the obi sash….and Reverend Ito heading to the ceremony to preside over the san san kudo (sake ceremony)  My first time, thanks Erin for teaching me that part of your heritage. Vintage looking portraits with a Vintage Packard.  Wow, Uncle Patrick with the bagpipes; if you have not heard bag pipes live, you have no idea how powerful this single instrument can be!  28 piece band/string orchestra…if you closed your eyes, you would have thought Etta James was on stage!

Ok, one more..the cufflinks from Erin to TJ, engraved with their family crest!  Classy and one day, family heirloom.

Custom Pillows, baskets, broaches, sashes

My May bride was looking for a beautiful basket and pillow and could not find many options in bridal boutiques. There are just standard white or ivory ones and unless you are super crafty or know how to sew, you are probably buying one of the generic ones seen at Michael’s.  So when I came across this product, I had to blog it.  And better yet, if you purchase an item off the website www.emicibridal.com and add the coupon code “details” it will take 15% off the purchase price.  There is also a link to enter her Etsy store there. If a Details Details reader purchases an item they are eligible for a 15% off total purchase discount on both sites.  If you are purchasing through Etsy obtaining the discount is easy. Simply build your online cart and then click checkout. In the notes section of your Etsy store payment type Details. Click confirm and Marie will send you a revised paypal invoice for the purchase with the 15% discount. Do not pay until you receive the new invoice. Then you will be able to click the link to complete your purchase. You can contact Marie at anytime via email at marieconrad@emicibridal.com if there is something you do not see or want something completely unique and one of a kind!

Sneak Peak of Jennifer and Josh

Jennifer and Josh had Rich Flynn document their day with oils….here is the final masterpiece of their ceremony site. It is so amazing how he works so fast and looks just like the ceremony site. You can’t tell but there was a crow sitting on the fountain all day and of course, he made the painting.

Wedding photos coming soon!

Erin and TJ Part I- Decor

Thanks Victor for sending these files……he writes on his blog:This first post concentrates on the decor and the amazing transformation of the Pacific Ballroom. The design theme of the wedding was a 40s style Jazz feel with an art deco flare done in all black and white with small touches of red. The entire room was draped in white fabric, carpeted black, with a black and white glossy dance floor with the couple’s crest gobo. There were also two levels built around the edge of the ballroom so it terraced the dinner tables down to the dance floor. Even the railing was art deco and it felt like you were in a Jazz Club. There was a full orchestra band which had amazing range from the classics to Michael Jackson. Stay tuned for the second post this week, enjoy!

Have to give credit where credit is due…. Christopher Aldama from Friori Fresco, who designed and produced this event and transformed the Pacific Ballroom at St.Regis Monarch Beach.  I got to do the fun stuff, he had the hard parts…he stayed at the hotel for 2 days, dealing with construction of the staging, flooring, carpeting, etc…you wouldn’t believe how much wood was used to create the multi level seating.  Loved the feathers on the Mezzanine level.  (Thanks Kate…inside thing)  Fan of colored glassware. Thanks to Mimio for all the paper goods, and especially on creating the custom family crest Erin and TJ will have for generations to come! Seen on cake, dessert chocolate mold and dance floo.  Check back for part II, bagpipes and 2 wedding gowns created by R-Mine, designed by bride Erin who has impeccable taste…loved her jewelry too, of course, art deco!

Natallie and Amar, Part II

You saw the ceremony of Natallie and Amar at Pelican Resort: soft and romantic. Now Reception: colorful, fun, ethnic and memorable!  As guests enter the hallway into the Mar Vista Ballroom, they are greeted by a iron tree encrusted with hanging crystals and flowers and a welcome gift of rose champagne. As guests sip champagne, tags on the flutes guide them to their table assignments.  The energy of the band as you enter the ballroom doors signify, PAAARTYYYYY!  In the circular window room, large scrim elephants signify, love and prosperity and give ode to Amar’s culture….if you missed that, you wouldn’t have missed the little gold elephants at each table.  So cute…subtle, just right. Natallie wanted an explosion of the color magenta and the gold to spice things.  Love love the rented gold patterned glasses and chargers! If the gold wasn’t enough spice, then the cigars should have spiced things up for the boys…..or maybe it was the cinnamon sugar donuts offered at midnight?

Jody and Pierre Engagement

Jody and Pierre left home Manhattan Beach to come down to Laguna beach…it was worth it, as they had so much fun with Steve Hoffman (Hoffmann Photographer), that they lost a shoe in the ocean!  Jody and Pierre are to be married in July at Pelican Resort in Newport Coast.  Stay tuned for their wedding photos this summer.

Erin and TJ Same Day Edit

Took this off of Elysium Blog….I had the dream team, Alex and Julie this past Saturday. Julie writes: Erin & TJ had an awesome “Old Hollywood/Jazz Club” themed wedding (that’s how I describe it anyway) at the St. Regis, Monarch Beach. Christopher Aldama completely transformed one of the St. Regis ballrooms from floor to ceiling. Staged seating was even built – it was truly unique and it really captivated the feel they were going for.

My favorite moments from this day include Erin’s uncle who played the bagpipes before the ceremony and to intro them into cocktail hour (I get goosebumps upon hearing bagpipes!) and all the little details that symbolized their backgrounds (Irish & Japanese). The day had many touching moments and in the evening everyone experienced one of the best parties we have ever filmed. PERIOD.
Congrats Erin & TJ and have an amazing honeymoon!!! P.S. For the best viewing experience, press play and then pause in order to let the video load. Once it loads all the way press play again. Enjoy!
