OC Mobile Spray Tan- they come to you!

Pale pale legs….is what I saw today after I put on my cocktail dress!  I never get tans in summer like normal people do since I wear black pant suits on the weekends at weddings so by the time winter rolls around, I am super pale.  I could have used a spray tan today so I thought this blog entry was perfect timing. They come to you…just remember to wear black clothes and undies afterwards, just for the first few hours before you shower.

OC Mobile Spray Tan “South Orange County’s Premier Mobile Spray Tan”

“Why travel to a high priced tanning salon when we can come to you, whether you are at home or on the job. It’s fast, safe and convenient! At OC Mobile Spray Tan, we offer a highly customized natural looking spray tan using the best quality products available which includes the use of the Infinity Sun Spa Spray Tanning System as featured on E! Network’s super popular hit show “Sunset Tan”. In recent years it has been discovered that being exposed directly to the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays and tanning beds are causing a rise in skin cancer and premature aging among young adults. The only 100% safe approach to tanning these days is the SPRAY TAN… Spray Tanning  processes have come a very long way in a short amount of time. No longer do you end up looking orange or streaky. Our OC Mobile specialized tanning technicians are all certified by the American Tanning Institute and trained in using the Infinity Sun Spa Spray Tanning System. Spray Tanning disguises unsightly cellulite, blemishes, stretch marks and imperfections of the skin. Making you look thinner and feel better about the way your body looks. Marriage License Name Change Update

The State of California has added a section to the Marriage License for the couple to change their names.  Bride and/or groom can change their last names, not the first names.

The Name Equality Act (effective January 1, 2009)

The Name Equality Act of 2007 (AB 102, Chapter 567, Statutes of 2007) gives specific rights to parties at the time they are applying for a California marriage license to choose and list on the marriage license the name that each party will go by after marriage.

Parties are not required to have the same name, nor are they required to change their name.

If one or both of the parties want to have their new name(s) shown on the marriage license, the new name must be entered on the marriage license application at the time they are applying for the marriage license. The parties may choose any of the following middle or last names as the name they wish to be known as after marriage [FC § 306.5(b)(2)]:

Current last name of the other spouse
Last name of either spouse given at birth
A name combining into a single last name all or a segment of the current last name or last name of either spouse given at birth
A hyphenated combination of last names

NOTE: You may not change you first name using this process. IMPORTANT: You may not amend the marriage license after it has been issued to add or change the name you wish to be known as after you are married. The name you indicate on the marriage license application will be your name on the marriage license/certificate and cannot be changed by the County Clerk .

A certified copy of the marriage certificate containing the new name, or retaining the former name, shall constitute proof that the use of the new name or retention of the former name is lawful [FC § 306.5(b)(3)(a)].

The marriage certificate is used by multiple local, state, federal and private agencies, each of which have different rules and/or regulations regarding what documents are acceptable to change your name on their records following marriage. It is recommended that you contact these agencies to verify their requirements prior to applying for your marriage license.

It is unlawful for our employees to answer questions of a legal nature. County Clerk staff cannot advise you how to complete the marriage license application as it relates to your entry of a new name or retention of your former name on the marriage license application. For your protection, if you have any questions regarding whether you should or should not list your new name on the marriage license application, and/or how the Name Equality Act of 2007 may affect you, please consult an attorney prior to applying for your marriage license.

Winter wedding with Spring colors

When the client wanted pink and green as their wedding colors, I was like absolutely….but how do you do it where it looks like December and not May?  Winter means white snow…but none in Laguna beach. So take the colors and go 90% lighter…with complete trust, the client said surprise us.  Always a bit nervous about not showing the client the flowers but with the help of Sunny, she created these beautiful arrangements…and I would have never thought of using dusty millers as the right shade of green. The velvety leaves and color are perfect… I give credit when credit is due.  And loved loved the fur flower girl baskets. The girls screamed with joy when we presented it to them. But I think they liked the candy centerpieces more at the kids table. Thanks Sun for your creative eye with color….The Chois had an intimate ceremony at the Montage Studio Restuarant. The Studio Restaurant is available for weekend lunch weddings and some week nights. The views on this lawn are just as spectacular as the main lawn.  Thanks Minmi for working on this event and for being able to speak perfect Korean, you were amazing!

Jump ball, slam dunk…and best seats in the house!

How lucky are they?….as a little girl when I did play ball, I visited the Forum before a Lakers game.  I think I even got a few autographs from Laker girls practicing. As much as I thought they were super talented, I was more in awe with the players. But in actuality, I think the tv showed the game better than live, because we literally could touch the back wall with our blood nose seats.  But it was about the memory and experience as it was for Janice and Bolaji, who were able to take photos at the Staples Center and sit in JACK’s seat!

Joe Latter writes:  What? You mean not everyone gets to take their engagement photos on the Lakers home court. Actually they don’t. Janice & Bolaji are the only ones since it’s been open. Pretty dang cool if you ask me. These two will be having a fantastic wedding later this year at the Montage in Laguna Beach this September.

New Year means Happy News:)

We are proud and honored to have Shelly Wakefield join the Details Details family. I have known Shelly for 5 years as I worked with her on weddings as a catering manager at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach and also the St. Regis in Dana Point.  I and many others have always admired and respected her highly. She is a great partner on weddings.  And boy is she super detailed and has a great memory….always took amazing notes and was so quick to reply to all my questions. She brings over 15 years of hospitality experience to the company.  I am so excited to have her come to this side of wedding planning where she will help brides and families for years to come.

In addition, Nichelle Luc, owner of Details A La Carte, a custom invitation company will also be partnering with Details Details.  Believe or not, she had that company name for years…it’s just a perfect match. She will be displaying her products, samples and meeting with brides at the DD office in Irvine.  She will offer custom invitations of made of various papers, fabrics, acrylic, wood and other natural products.  Not only will she do the invite, but have all the other paper goods to match, from menu cards to table numbers and so on.  This partnership will offer our clients a greater level of service and convenience. Especially in the last week of planning, when paper goods is the biggest checklist item to work on after seating assignments are done.  AND you don’t have to be a DD bride to work with her directly.

BTW, Shelly is in coral and Nichelle is in black…..thanks to Drew B for taking their head shots!

Back in California….away from Snow

If you lived in freezing cold Michigan during the winter, wouldn’t you want any excuse to come to California?  Jennifer and Josh had a great one….meet their photographer for an engagement shoot!  Ben, who is from Northern California, met them in LA and took them all around.  You probably would not know that just by looking at their photos, other than the Santa Monica pier.  Loved the romantic shoot and especially all the different environments and night light.  Definitely in love with each other, or wouldn’t share an ice cream cone (I always got to have my own cone)  What’s another great excuse to come back in Spring?  To get married of course..stay tuned.
