Brides Southern California

We were approached last month to assist in planning Brides.com’s annual networking event on April 16 at Molaa in Long Beach. Brides.com is part of Brides Southern California, Brides Magazine, Elegant Bride and a Conde Nast Publication. The location was so unique as we had the event outdoors in the sculpture garden at Molaa and the food was amazing as they exclusive partners with TGIS, Thank Goodness It’s Sophia Catering. And of course, the talented Christopher Aldama of Fiori Fresco was on board for design and producing spectacular lighting. Other buddies that came to sponsor are Classic Party Rentals, Wildflower Linens, Lounge Appeal, Chameleon Chairs, Pacific Coast Bar, Diana Phillips Artisan Chocolatier. The rest you are going have to buy the magazine.  Here are just a few candid shots of the event from Samuel Lippke’s camera and us (the other Jeannie, Michelle and Christine) with Samuel. This event will be featured in the Fall Winter Issue 08 of Brides Southern California Magazine.

Glamorous at Viceroy

Talk about G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S! This shoot reminds me of that Fergie song.  Drew B, Chelsea and Sean’s wedding photographer met with them at the famous Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica. Drew says it’s a dream location for engagement shoots. Rather than the traditional love story, this was more fashion inspired, something you would see in W Magazine. My favorite one is of Chelsea vacuuming with heels! When I think of Chelsea, I think of savvy smart business women with great taste on clothes. I always want what she is wearing.   Take a look at Drew B’s new blog for way more photos, I just have a small sampling. Check back for their wedding day pics in June.

Cari and Stephen Gundee Wedding

I just loved the decor for this wedding!  Cari is not a Pink girl, and did not want alot of flowers in her bouquet or any fussiness. The beauty of the Montage Resort speaks for itself so Cari wanted the decor to enhance the property and not take away from gorgeous views.  Cari and Stephen who live in Chicago, wanted their friends and family to experience what they know of the Pacific coast. Shades of celery and aqua were carefully seen throughout the wedding, from the pashminas on the chairs, to the fabric on the huppah to the lighting in the ballroom. Accents of pewter from the table linens, chargers and menu cards was a great offset to the cool blue tones.  Beautiful trees were strategically placed on the lawn and on square tables in the ballroom.  When guests walked in, they gasped with delight on this enchanting space with beautiful flowers and blooming trees (which weren’t real of course)  I had so much fun planning this with Linda, Mother of the Bride, she is stunning (Gold dress, bottom corner) Almost forgot, Cari was sad she could not bring the other love of her life, Linus, her dog to the wedding so mom surprised her and has Linus carved into the ice block.  Thanks to Ira and Samuel of Ira Lippke Studios for these great photos!

Sarah K Chen Photography

Remember the post from the Rancho Las Lomas wedding? Well I ran into the bride Sarah last month at a friend’s wedding in Las Vegas (those pics will post later) During the reception, I found out Sarah has gone PRO and is shooting weddings throughout Southern California and is almost booked for the entire year.  Her website and blog is www.sarahkchen.com I copied some pictures off her blog that I love. And I just had to feature her dog Akira, so adorable! Congratulations Sarah on a great website and blog!

Sexy Sophisticated Sarah Mills

The fabulous Joe Photo shot an engagement session with Sarah and Tucker who are to be married this September and I wanted to share them with you.  Sarah has amazing skin! I think it’s because she shares top secrets that only aestheticians knows about.  Sarah’s beauty reminds me of a tag line for one of my favorite skin care products, it goes like this:  The embodiment of contemporary elegance and enduring style. She also has got me hooked on Tury Burch shoes, I think she has every style and every color. If only I could find the “miller” in coconut in a size 6.5.

Amy Weber on ET

Some of you may have seen Amy Weber (model/actress) on Entertainment Tonight last week. She modeled wedding dresses at R-Mine Bridal in Studio City.  I am honored to be Amy’s wedding planner….she is getting married this May in Orange County. Can’t say where or when but will post the blog after the big day! Gotta click on the photo to check her out!

Hello Bridesmaids, This one is for you!  Tell your bride- friend that you want to wear a gorgeous non frumpy dress since you have delightfully accepted to be a bridesmaid. And that you want to try on dresses at Thread in LA as they have amazing bridesmaids dresses from cute to pretty to chic!  They have a trunk show on April 18 and 19 by appointment only.  And you might get to meet the manager Grace, who is so—- sweet and accommodating and very knowledgeable about fashion.  Then stop by Urth Café across the street for a healthy organic meal and you might even see a celebrity while you are there!

I love Janie’s Blog BridesCafe

Janie Medley Flora Design is also owner and creator of BridesCafe.typepad It is probably one of the most read wedding inspired blogs on the internet. She has spent countless hours each week researching vendors, doing interviews, finding the coolest new things, hottest dresses, and of course beautiful weddings to feature. Recently, she was featured in InStyle Weddings! I was honored to be interviewed by her a few weeks ago. You can read the article or look for some inspirational things. She has inspired me to blog some adorable bride shoes that featured. For those that know me, I love love shoes! I wish I could find a reason to buy the Christian Lacroix ones, maybe just for prancing around.

Alona and Jeff

Alona looks hot! Alona and Jeff are getting married at The Mission in San Juan Capistrano and having their reception at the St. Regis Resort this fall. Alona bought a beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown, we won’t say which one. Alona actually got to meet Monique in person at a Bloomingdales event at South Coast Plaza this past month. Thanks Chenin for these amazing pics! We are looking forward to you documenting the wedding. Check out Chenin’s blog at Boutwell Studio
