I am in love, again…other than cupcakes, I can’t get enough of macarons, especially these from Paulette’s in Beverly Hills. My favorite is pistachio and grapefruit and of course sweet wedding almond.

Paulette’s unique macarons are hand-made daily in her everly Hills bakery. Working with master pastry chef Christophe Michalak, they’ve dedicated themselves to creating a new and original take on this Parisian specialty. The store is delightful; a luminous contemporary atmosphere that features a kaleidoscope of vivid colors and delectable tastes. Owner of HUSH restaurant in Laguna Beach, Chuck Rock, gives his daughter Nicole’s hand in marriage to Toby Mink this past August.  We worked closely with Chuck as Nicole and Toby lives in Maryland.  Thanks for entrusting us with your wedding and for allowing us to be creative and give us (Christopher Aldama Fiori Fresco) full control on design. Everyone was shocked with the reveal of the same day edit on plasma tvs, hidden behind the drapes. Something that the EAST coast is not familiar with.  Photos from Jon Barber coming soon!

Many of you saw a sneak peak of Amy Weber on E! when she was trying on wedding dresses. We haven’t been able to release photos yet due to publications reviewing the wedding but here is a teaser as Elysium Productions created an extended highlight video, within a week of their wedding.

Some of you may remember the sneak peaks of Lindsey and Chris’s amazing 3 day destination wedding extravaganza last July in Laguna Beach.  The last day was the actual wedding day, held at a private estate and then dinner at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel.  There were ballerinas, synchronized swimmers, DJ AM, Mad Hatter, Save the Date book made into a wedding cake, just to name a few details.  To see more, you have to pick up the new OC Weddings Magazine!

When you think of “Do it Yourself“, you think a little of this and a little of that, especially when it comes to your wedding.  You might make the party favors for your guests or possibly create the table numbers, but that wasn’t the case for my bride Jen.  She cut and sewed every single runner and napkin, made the matching place cards (whatever fabric was on your place card designated the table you sat at, and also matched the napkin for that specific table), made the party favors (initial magnets denoting what your menu selection was), printed all of the menus, programs, table numbers, and coasters, and made the custom linen for cake table. Their guest book was also a custom linen that they had all of thier guests sign.  Jen also knit all of her bridesmaids socks!  She was so crafty and it paid off in a big way.  The event was absolutely beautiful!  Congratulations Jen and Ray!

It was a beautiful day in August for a beautiful couple, Sandy and Harry. Extremely gracious and hospitable! We started off the day with pre-ceremony drinks: Strawberry sunset, Orange Passion fizz and Peach Bellinis. Can you imagine the rest of the day was like for food and drinks? Ok, I’ll give you a hint, Fried chicken, mini burgers, and grilled cheese sandwiches in TO GO boxes as a parting gift! How fun and comforting is that! More to come, look out for photos soon. For those that know me, I love red velvet Sprinkles, well Brooke and Michelle do too. We do try to limit consumption due to sugar content. But more than just the love of the taste of cupcakes as it’s just the perfect amount of cake and icing, I go crazy over cute cupcakes… and I have found someone so talented that I have to share her info.  She is based in Mission Viejo, Kelly of Once Upon a Cupcake.  She can do any holiday, any theme, any special occasion, you name it….she can do it. Now what holiday is coming up so I can make an excuse to order them?  She does mention in her blog that Back to school is first week of September…hmm, not going to work as Maddie is not in school yet.  Maybe Happy Friday, will that count, any excuse right to have one of her cupcakes?
